Charles put one boot up onto the porch and leaned against a post. They stood at eye level. They also stood too close. The magnet pulled her again.
She had this overpowering urge to lean over and kiss him. She wanted to feel his arms around her; she wanted to taste his lips. She wanted to feel his strength, his power. She wanted her breath back. Alex clutched the blanket closer to her chest instead. She had no right to want this man. It was merely a physical attraction, nothing more, a hormonal urge to be satisfied. She told herself over and over he wasn’t interested. Common sense said not to get involved. Alexandra Colter was a visitor with no plans to stay. She belonged in New York. Besides being a writer, Jane was once a caterer's assistant, office manager, basketball referee, all-star softball short-stop, and even a candlestick maker. But she spent more years than she could remember as a Respiratory Therapist and paramedic instructor. Throughout, writing was her passion and still is today. She gravitated toward romantic suspense because of her never-ending interest in relationships coupled with her avid love for mysteries.
