Ally Moran Has Always Just Known About Things—Things She Shouldn’t Really Be Able to Know… Seeker by

Title: Seeker (The Seeker Series, Book One)

Author: Amy Reece

Genre: YA Paranormal Romance, YA Paranormal

Book Blurb:

Ally Moran has always just known about things—things she shouldn’t really be able to know… Suddenly when she starts having vivid visions about a former friend who is in desperate trouble, the adults in her life think she might hold the key to an ancient mystery. Jack Ruiz has a troubled past, but is trying to make a fresh start at a new high school… He just wants to keep his head down and graduate, hopefully before he turns 20. The last thing he needs is to get involved with a feisty redhead and her psychic visions. While Jack valiantly attempts to keep Ally at arm’s length, she is equally determined to be a part of his life. Who will win this battle of wills? More importantly… Can this unlikely couple work together to find answers to Ally’s visions before someone gets killed?

My Review:

Seeker is a Young Adult Paranormal Romance but it is so much more than a teenage romance. Ally Moran is intuitive just like her mother and grandmother but when she has a vision about her ex-friend and uber-popular cheerleader, her whole is turned upside down.

Enter the book boyfriend of the year, Jack Ruiz. He witnesses Ally having her first vision and mistakes it for Ally being ill. Being the gentleman he is, he insists on driving her home. Ally thinks he is hot and tries to dampen her feelings by telling herself that he is just being nice.

Sparks fly and before you can say teenage crush, they are a couple. Ally tries to hide her psychic abilities from Jack but the visions keep coming and she can’t control them. Jack has secrets of his own and the more he is around Ally, the harder it is to keep them from her.

I fell in love with Jack and he is exactly the kind of guy I crushed in high school. Sweet, funny with a dark past.

Ally and Jack must confide in each other if they are going to be a couple. I won’t give anything else away but let me tell you, Ally and Jack are adorable.

I love a good paranormal romance and this is one of the best I’ve read. Amy Reece weaves a gripping story (while being in the paranormal) that left me on the edge of my seat. Date rape, drugs, domestic abuse, teen pregnancy and self-discovery are all strong themes in this book but it wasn’t preachy.

I can’t wait to read what happens in book two!

Favorite Character: Hands down, Jack Ruiz. He’s a kind, quiet guy with a dark past. He shows Ally what it means to trust someone and to be trusted. He also is the perfect example of a book boyfriend.

My Rating: 5 stars
