My Review:


Confession: I’m addicted to this series and the latest installment is the finest written horror/dark fantasy I’ve ever read. This is the book readers have been waiting for. I swear, my heart stopped several times as revelations were revealed.


The story is the culmination of what has taken place and what’s to come. Several key players make critical moves in order to ready themselves for the final showdown. When I say the stakes couldn’t be higher, I mean it. Augustus is a cambion on a mission to destroy everything in his path. Yet, his actions lead him to discover his true purpose. Talk about riveting!


The world-building is sublime. Andrew Weston is a mastermind when it comes to world-building. He intricately lays the foundation in each book like a craftsman. It may be all in the author’s imagination, but on paper, it’s sheer brilliance. I got sucked into the world he created, and I loved every moment.


The characters I’ve grown quite attached to continue to make this book an unforgettable read. Each character is poignantly portrayed with his/her own voice. Their thoughts and feelings became my thoughts and feelings. These characters come to life from the story and I am forever changed. You will be moved by them, too.


Escape to a world so unlike your own, you’ll think you’re in peril yourself. I strongly recommend this book!
