“Do I look like a gentleman to you?” Raven stared hard at Lady Elizabeth’s flawless face and wide sapphire eyes. To scare her, he inched closer and let his eyes feast upon the valley between her rounded breasts barely covered by her dress. Raising his head, he noted how her rosebud lips snapped shut and her cheeks flushed pink. Unable to resist, he smoothed the pad of his thumb over her delicate cheekbone.


“Make no mistake. Chance allowed my presence today. That is all. I am nothing like the men you know. I'm a ghost. Do not come back to these woods again. I do not live by your rules, nor will I. Now go.”


When Lady Elizabeth frowned but touched his hand, he pulled away and shouted to scare her for both their sakes.
