My Review:


Wow, this romantic mystery set on heart on fire. I’ve heard about this funny series for months and when I got a chance to read one, I couldn’t wait. This Baker family is a hoot!


The characters, no matter which side of the law they’re on, are quirky, imaginative, and humorous. I like Audrey immensely. Her truthful nature brings a fresh view on life. She doesn’t shy away from anything which added an unfiltered perspective. Her falling for a firefighter is priceless and full of irony. She makes the perfect addition to the Baker clan.


The romance is understated and well-written. It’s written with realism and unfolds as a romance should. The romantic subplot ebbs and flows bringing two unlikely people together.


The mystery subplot is expertly written and draws the read into the story. There are a few twists I didn’t expect. Well done by the author.


Overall, this book is a humorous romantic mystery I recommend. Escape from the everyday blahs to the big uneasy.
