But even Nick’s girlfriend Emily can’t change the dreams and visions Nick begins having about a civil war soldier named Jonathan. And worse still, Cat says she’s returning to Laketon and wants to see him.

My Review:

Nick is struggling with memories not his own and through Cat he learns they are reincarnated souls. Can Nick come to grips with what is happening to him? Cat-atonic is an original story with characters who’ll captivate, a reincarnation storyline, and unlike anything you’ve read before.

I can honestly admit this is one of the most original stories I’ve ever read. There’s a lot going on but thanks to detailed narration, I was never lost. Every scene is described down to the last detail. The emotions propel the narration.

The characters are well-written. My heart connected with Nick and his plight. How frightening it is for Nick to share memories with Jonathan and Cat. Cat is a fascinating character. Her complex personality speaks volumes. The rest of the characters add depth and insight.

The world-building is intricate and intriguing. I have never read a reincarnation story like this one. The ability Sue C. Dugan has to make her world believable is impressive. Well done.

If you’re looking for an imaginative story, read Cat-atonic.

Author Biography:

Sue writes five-star LitPick novels that keep readers of all ages turning pages long into the night. When she’s not writing, she’s reading, attending author events, or walking her dogs. She has two children and five grandchildren. Snack wise, Sue is a salty-type gal, but wouldn’t say no to an occasional chocolate kiss or two! She isn’t sure she’s a reincarnated author, but if she was, she’d want to be Jane Austen, Mary Shelley, or Emily Brontë. When her novels are run through author comparison sites, she gets Anne Rice through Mark Twain—quite a wide spread which makes for interesting reading (Tom Sawyer was a Vampire?).
