December thirty first. Had not made any plans. New years eve was yet another part of our programing that I deleted years back. But the thought of spending it with someone would be embraced with open arms. It would have been nice to check out some live music but continuing the book was imperative. I wrote and attended the fireworks early that evening.
I had written most of the day and later relaxed to an enjoyable meal of leftovers. With the lingering thought of a chance meeting with my friend. Expecting a great show lasting about twenty minutes, I kicked back with a cup of tea with anticipation. Lingering in her present energy as the show approached.
The evening was pleasant enough above 0 with a sight wind. Warmly dressed I departed. Noticing the sky as I walked, stars visible among see through clouds reminded me of a painting. A Starry Night painted by Vincent Van Gogh. A candle lite village among the snow-covered mountains of the French Alps nestled under a starry sky, a beacon for any soul looking for home.
As I drew closer, I could hear the boom and whistle of the show. Red, blue, green, yellow all colors that the eye could perceive. Weaving my way through the crowd I found a view. Taking in the show and closing out 2019. Sending forth a wish for the year to come.
