My Review:


Past family secrets collide with the present, bringing Harlan and Phaedra into the middle of a terrifying plot of deception. Harlan MacKenzie senses foreboding while renovating what’s known as the Big Purple House owned by long-time friend Phaedra. When a stranger shows up and begins making trouble, Harlan knows he needs to tread carefully. The historic mansion is full of secrets, many of them connecting his family to murder. The more he and Phaedra work together, the closer they become. Forces outside his control interfere in their relationship and they’re thrust into a mystery neither wanted. Can Harlan solve the mystery, defeat the evil forces, and secure Phaedra’s love or will it all be taken away?


Mystery on Spirit Mountain is an eerie romantic suspense I couldn’t put down. When it comes to suspense, I love an old mansion full of secrets itching to be explored. Brenda Whiteside blends romantic suspense with paranormal mystery with ease in her latest release. Using descriptive narration and subtext plot progression, readers are sucked into the story right from the start. I connected with Harlan right away. He’s such an alluring hero. The romance is friends to lovers, yet it builds slowly. The couple has great chemistry and I kept rooting for them to stay together. The plot moves at a slow pace to start and then races forward to a thrilling conclusion. If you love romantic suspense, you need to read Mystery on Spirit Mountain. Brilliant from start to finish, Mystery on Spirit Mountain is one I highly recommend!

Brenda Whiteside is the author of suspenseful, action-adventure stories with a touch of romance. Mostly. She and her husband are gypsies at heart having lived in six states and two countries.
