Today is Anne Frank's birthday. If she survived the Holocaust, she would be 89 today. On this day, I'd like to remember her outlook, her wisdom and her bravery. But first a brief bio for those of you unfamiliar with her.

Anne Frank is a Jewish girl who has to go into hiding during World War Two to escape from the Nazis. Together with seven others she hides in the secret annex at Prinsengracht 263 in Amsterdam. After more than two years in hiding they are discovered and deported to concentration camps. Anne’s father, Otto Frank, is the only one of the eight people to survive. After her death Anne becomes world famous because of the diary she wrote while in hiding. (Bio info courtesy of http://www.annefrank.org/en/Anne-Frank/Anne-Franks-history-in-brief/)

Read the quote above and ask yourself how you'd react. Everything has been taken away from you and you are in hiding. You can't go outside and play with your friends. You have to be very quiet. At any moment, you'll be discovered by a group of people hellbent on murdering you and others like you.

Would you still be positive and see the good in others?

If I were honest, I don't know that I could be positive in the same situation. But I'd sure like to be more positive in my everyday life.

No matter what happens today, see the good in others. If Anne Frank can, then we can too!
