“Never tell me the odds.” – Han Solo
Today is May the 4th Day (or Star Wars Day) and I have various characters whispering in my ear inspiring words. Yes, I confess I'm a Star Wars fanatic. I've watched the first six films too many times to count and the SW Universe is part of my own world.
When faced with an untenable situation, what do you concentrate on? Do you concentrate on those who tell you the odds are stacked against you or do you focus your energy on what you're trying to accomplish?
Han Solo is what you might call a straight shooter. Sure, he may bend the law every now and again to save his own skin but when he tells you something, it's the truth. His quote above inspires me to ignore the naysayers and go after my dreams.
The odds are stacked up against me as both an author and an entrepreneur. In order to be successful, I must do all sorts of things, according to so-called experts. Blah, blah, blah. I don't listen to them spout off stats and odds. I listen to my heart.
Take Han Solo's advice (and mine) and ignore the odds. They don't matter anyway. At any given moment, on any given day, success shines down and those who work hard are rewarded.
Stay focused and you'll be King/Queen/Ruler of the Universe in no time!
