My Review:

Kelly has been dealt a rotten childhood after both her parents were murdered when she is very young. Forced to bounce around foster care and then sent to live in an orphanage, she’s thrilled to be on her own. But life on the streets is tough, especially when you’re without skills and prospects. Kelly tries prostitution but honestly, is horrible at it. But her life changes when she meets a handsome man named Graham White. He offers her a life of comfort and all her needs met but there’s a catch. She’s got to pretend to be a little girl to Graham, her new daddy. She agrees reluctantly and enters the world of spanking and age-play. Can she learn to be little or will she have to bear the punishments her new daddy doles out?

While this is an erotic spanking romance, this is an emotional read. I found myself wanting to hug Kelly and tell her it’s going to be okay. She’s been given a second chance to not only relive her childhood but at life, too. She has trust issues, which is understandable, but Graham sees something inside Kelly that not even she can see: a beautiful soul.

There’s quite a bit of BDSM, spanking, power exchange, discipline and sexual acts. I found the spanking to be a little excessive, at times, but if that’s your thing, you’ll love this story.

I loved reading and discovering the age-play world Kathryn R. Blake created. Her character-driven plot moved at a good pace and I look forward to reading more from her.

Favorite Character/Quote: Kelly. I loved how much she grew from the jaded woman to the innocent “little” under the tutelage of Graham. After awhile it was evident she fully embraced her inner child, much to the thrill of her Daddy Dom.

Author Biography:

Though Arrested by Love is Kathryn R. Blake’s first spanking romance (a romance where the spankings actually figure into the plot), it is not the first book she has written in which the hero spanks the heroine. In fact, most of her novels have some sort of spanking in them. To date, all of her heroes are Dominant, alpha males who are extremely protective of the women they love. However, part of that protectiveness includes the desire for a certain amount of control. They do not suffer defiance or disobedience lightly. In fact, it is something they refuse to tolerate, and will take firm steps to ensure it never happens again.

Even in novels where there is an element of BDSM, the hero has no desire to cause the heroine injury, but does believe pain can be a powerful motivator. Even so, he takes no delight in hurting the woman of his heart. In fact, sometimes he finds it extremely difficult to follow through on his threats. But if the transgression is serious enough to actually endanger the heroine’s well-being or life, he will take action no matter how much it may hurt him to do so.
