When Faced With A Life-Threatening Situation, Take This Advice! #inspiration #motivation #parkinsons

"In the very beginning, to be immobilized by fear and think the worst thing has happened to you – it hasn't happened to you. You still have things you can do," Alda said. "I'm taking boxing lessons three times a week. I do singles tennis a couple of times a week. I march to Sousa music because marching to music is good for Parkinson's."

Alan Alda went on CBS This Morning and told the world he's been diagnosed with Parkinson's Disease. An actor I highly respect and admire then went on to say he isn't curling up in a ball upon hearing the terrible news. He continues to do the things he loves, including listening to music.

What an inspiration! He's my inspirational person of the month for his willingness to fight Parkinson's. He wakes up every single day ready to take on whatever comes.

There are millions of people dealing with life-threatening situations. They fight it through words, actions and perseverance.

No matter what you're going through, keep fighting. Don't let the negativity keep you down. It's not the end of the world and the more you fight, the better you'll feel.

Thank you, Alan Alda, for your outlook on life and for sharing your story with us. If you can combat Parkinson's, I can deal with whatever comes my way (even if it is a spider that just won't die). Keep marching!
