My Review:

Since the beginning of time, humanity has had guardians, eternal beings known as the Emissaries, to guide humanity from destruction and extinction into the next enlightenment. Marcus and Theron are two of the chosen Emissaries to preserve humanity and usher in the next great year, as foretold by their Elders. Not only that, they’re lovers and with each reincarnation, Marcus remembers their love, but Theron does not. This time, though, they have an enemy disguised as a friend whose goal is to destroy them and their plan. Will Marcus and Theron succeed in escorting a new era for humanity or will the forces of evil gain an upper hand? Will Marcus have to choose between duty and his love for Theron?

The Emissary is a beautiful epic fantasy filled with ancient mythology, eternal love and war over good and evil. Well researched, Tamara Veitch and Rene DeFazio bring both past and future worlds to life. I found myself transported to ancient times and a bleak future with ease. The world building, while intricate in details, provides the reader with an immense foundation for future books in the series. This is nothing like I’ve read before and I couldn’t get enough. I can’t wait to read more in the series!

Rene DeFazio and Tamara Veitch are a husband and wife writing team. Rene is an actor, producer and author. Tamara studied English, History and General Arts at Simon Fraser University. The co-authors have been writing together for nearly a decade. In 2012 they received Honorable mention from the New York Book Festival and The London Book Festival.
