Title: Happily Ever After

Author: Ruth A. Casie

Genre: Contemporary Romantic Suspense

Publisher: Timeless Scribes Publishing

Book Blurb:

He was the cause of her fall from literary stardom until he became her salvation.

From a fall from literary stardom to becoming the heroine in her own romance story, Beth Holmes has turned around her career and her love life. She owes it all to one very special person.

Jarred Watson has loved Beth since he read her first novel and suspected the heroine was the embodiment of the author. But the road to romance was fraught with pitfalls. He almost lost everything because of a conniving agent and a little white lie that got out of hand. At the eleventh hour, with honesty and hard work, their book sales are off the charts and a movie deal is in negotiations.

Interfering families and changed plans take their toll. Will they go their separate ways or will Holmes and Watson continue their literary collaboration and personal partnership in order to find their own happily ever after?

He drew her closer. A spellbinding glint flashed in his eyes. “You’re soft and delicious.”

Speechless, her scalp tingled, and her panties dampened at the sweet torture of his anticipated touch.

“It’s the chicken,” Beth teased, her forehead leaning against his.

“No, it’s not. I need to get out of my clothes.” His voice deepened. The gleam in his eyes darkened. “So do you.”

A wild tremble carried her along on an even wilder roller coaster. At the peak of the ride, she teetered. She held her breath at the anticipation of the sudden fall. The seconds dragged on.

Jarred dipped his head and she felt the heady sensation of his lips as they worked their way up her neck.

Her air-starved lungs filled with his scent, all citrusy and spicy and so undeniably male. His mouth grazed her earlobe. She stretched her neck for more. His chest rumbled at her greediness, but she didn’t care. She turned and stared into his eyes—deep, hazel, and filled with passion. Reclaiming her lips, he crushed her close. His kisses more urgent. He hesitated a heartbeat, then raised his mouth from hers and gazed into her eyes. The roller coaster tipped over the brink and gathered speed.

She yearned to be closer, wanted more.

He lifted her into his arms and walked to their bedroom. “How good are you?” he teased with a silky voice.

“I’ll show you,” she whispered in his ear. His heart pounded against her chest.

He kicked the door closed.

Title: The Witching Hour

Author: Ruth A. Casie

Genre: Contemporary Romantic Suspense

Publisher: Timeless Scribes Publishing

Book Blurb:

Lost: One locket filled with memories. Will finding it lead Rachel to peace and happiness?

Rachel Emerson led a charmed life. Steffen Burkett, her greatest love was everything a woman could want and he was hers. But before the wedding invitations were sent, the wedding was cancelled.

Fast forward thirty years. Rachel returns to her beloved home on Halloween eve, the day before the house becomes the property of the Historical Society. For years she mourned the loss of her locket, her only connection to Steffen. This is her last chance to find it. Going home takes Rachel on a journey of self-discovery and possibly even reconciliation.

Book Trailer:

The week before Halloween, on her way home from an afternoon of gathering sea shells at the town beach, intent on getting her favorite hamburger and fries at Mellie’s Diner, she carefully approached Water Street ready to cross.

Water Street followed the coastline and was a series of serpentine curves that led to a straight-away as it came into Havenport. The last curve, the one everyone called Killer Curve, carried a double punch. A sharp curve and steep rise not only obscured on-coming traffic, but if you didn’t slow down before the drop, well, you could wind up on the beach, if the tide was out.

With nothing in site, Rachel stepped off the curb. Out of nowhere, she found herself in the cross hairs of an oncoming car. Startled, and incapable to make sense of what was happening, she stood frozen in place.

Breaks screeched filling the air with the odor of burnt rubber. Finally, Rachel came to her senses and jumped back toward the curb, but landed badly, her ankle on an odd angle, and fell to the ground. The car skidded to a stop inches away from her.

The door swung open, the engine still running, and from her position on the asphalt, she stared at a pair of muscular legs. Rachel worked to catch her breath. Her sunglasses had gone flying and with the sun glaring into her eyes, she didn’t recognize who stood over her.

“Jeez, I could have—. Don’t move. I’ll take you to the hospital.”

“Don’t be silly. I’m fine.” Rachel sat up, groped for her sunglasses. He plucked them out of the street and handed them to her. She put on the twisted frames. Her eyes traveled from his muscular legs, up his bare ripped abdomen and chest to his concerned eyes. Who is he? A tourist? He helped her to her feet.

“See.” Her leg buckled and she got light headed.

“Whoa.” He had fast reflexes. He caught her before she hit the ground.

He easily held her as if her hundred and ten pounds were nothing and he didn’t appear eager to put her down. His hazel eyes were striking but his smile…took her breath away.

Rachel sniffed the air. “Skunk?”

“Yeah, you can still smell it? My map flew out the window. When I picked it up, a skunk sprayed me.”

“Don’t tell me. You stopped at Constitution and Manor.” She wanted to kiss that little critter.

“Yeah, how’d you know?”

“We’re old friends. Did you give the critter the shirt off your back?” He threw back his head and let out a peal of laughter.

“No, I burned it on the side of the road. I didn’t want to smell up my car. I’m Steffen Burkett. My family moved to the old Dyer place. Let me take you home. It’s the least I can do.” He placed her in the passenger seat.

“I’m Rachel Emerson. We’re practically neighbors.” It was a toss-up. She couldn’t decide whether it was almost becoming another Killer Curve statistic or the handsome Steffen Burkett that caused her to be light headed.

Yeah, she shamelessly played it up to keep his attention.

Title: Echoes of Betrayal

Author: Ruth A. Casie

Genre: Contemporary Romantic Suspense

Publisher: Timeless Scribes Publishing

Book Blurb:

You can’t always trust the ones you love.

Ryan Livingston thinks she has the perfect career as an attorney and campaign manager for her brother, Peter Livingston, the up-and-coming Senate candidate. But when an ex-con is murdered and gives a deathbed accounting of secret incriminating evidence, she teams up with longtime boyfriend Police Chief Jim Kanter, determined to find the documents and the truth behind them.

Jim Kanter has a good life. He’s respected for his unwavering integrity and fierce devotion to his job. Ex-military, he’s haunted by his failure to save his team from an Iraqi sniper.

Their investigation leads them to a well-entrenched drug ring, forgers, blackmailers, and a bombshell, a betrayer targeting them both. In this game of betrayer and betrayed, Ryan is the killers’ next target. But Jim is determined to not let any of that happen.

“I didn’t know Livingston and Livingston represented traffic violators,” Brian said as he stood with Jim in the back of the courtroom. Jim scanned the defendant’s table.

“I thought the law firm was more high profile,” Jim said. “You go on to the office. This should be quick. State the facts and leave. I want to be on the road to Providence as soon as possible.”

“Thanks for your support, but there’s no need for you to come to the police academy. This is not the first time I’m teaching the class. I can handle it,” Brian said.

“I’m well aware you can handle the class. If I thought otherwise, I wouldn’t have recommended you as an instructor. You better leave. I’ll meet you there later.”

As he hurried past the defense table, he sent some papers onto the floor. He and the attorney reached for them at the same time. When he looked up, papers in hand, he stared into the most compelling ice-blue eyes he had ever seen, serious and playful at the same time. He recognized intelligence mixed with understanding and a softness that took his breath away. Short and cropped almost boyish platinum-blonde hair framed her oval face. He wondered how it would feel in his hand, and how she would look with long hair, way past her shoulders.

“Are you going to give those to me? I promise I’m not hiding anything.” Her lips curved into a smile that went all the way to her eyes, which warmed into a more fantastic blue, if that was possible.

All thoughts of meeting Brian in Providence faded.

He smirked at her playful tone and handed her the papers.

She stood next to him, her expression all business. “Chief Kanter, would you consider a bargain? My client has a clean record. A young boy with his first car got carried away on the very tempting straight road right after that awful curve.”

“The speed limit on that part of the road is forty miles an hour. I clocked him going thirty-five miles over the speed limit. That section of road is deadly at the marked speed. I’m sure Mayor Henry would rather I speak to him about a traffic ticket than about a funeral. Listen, I’m not here to scar the kid for life, just protect him from himself, if necessary.”

“Would you recommend community service?” The attorney’s blue eyes held him captive. He had a reputation of recommending work in lieu of a hefty fine. It pleased him she asked rather than expected him to be in favor of fifteen to twenty hours of service. He liked her more by the minute.

“All rise,” the bailiff said. Jim went to the prosecutor’s table as the court was called to order.

“Will the attorneys please approach the bench,” the judge said.

Jim admired the confidence in the defense attorney’s stride and took her in from his place at the prosecutor’s table. She wore a dark navy suit and crisp white blouse with a red print scarf. He noticed her reasonable high heels. It wasn’t just one thing about her he found attractive, it was the whole package. This woman was sexy as hell.

At the end of the day, the boy paid his adjusted lower fine and was assigned to work fifteen hours at the animal shelter. He took the defense attorney to dinner. It didn’t take long before he was head over heels in love with her.

Perhaps if he saw someone else interested in her he’d change his mind. That’s a dangerous game. Will they come to their senses or deny the loving relationship they both desire?

“El, you okay? You seem to be someplace else.” He didn’t let her hand go.

She glanced at his eyes. The ones that made every woman who met him melt. “I was thinking about the day we met.”

He put his arm around her and drew her close. “Ah, you mean the day I gallantly saved your life.”

She laughed and snuggled closer. “You did not. I was tired that’s all.”

“Please, let me think you needed me. There are so few instances.” He kissed her forehead and went over to the captain to help with their luggage.

The smile slid off her face. For a moment she felt… alone. Need him? If there was ever a time she needed him it was now, but they were set on a collision course and she had no idea of the outcome. She shook off the uneasy sensation and grabbed some of the small bags. Alan was on his cell phone.
