My Review:
What a creative premise for a cozy mystery! A mortician, who’s married to a detective, lives in a small town and solves murders. After reading this book, I can honestly say this is an original mystery.
This book is well-written with mystery readers in mind. The author takes an odd occurrence and writes a whole mystery around it. She then layers in clues to point the reader the way with a few false clues to misdirect. The ending is not what I expected, though.
The characters are realistic with each one having their own voice and personality. The narration and dialogue add fullness to the characters.
The plot moves at a lively clip with the right amount of suspense. I didn’t care for the ending, but many readers will love it.
An original mystery is hard to come by, but this book is exactly that. Mystery readers will flock to this one.
