Noah steps out, and I almost faint at the sight of him.

If those hospital scrubs were crafted by the clothing gods, then I can only assume this suit was handcrafted by Satan himself just to torture me.

The silvery gray suit is tailored to perfection, emphasizing his broad shoulders and chest. It’s paired with a white button-down and thin black tie. His hair, normally slightly curly and messy on top, is slicked to the slide. I want to run my hands through it and make him as disheveled as I feel in his presence.

He looks classically old Hollywood handsome, and I’m now wondering if this is why Maddy insisted on this particular dress that I’m wearing.

She clears her throat, and my face flushes in embarrassment, only to realize it’s for Noah’s benefit and not mine.

He’s standing still on the stop, hand still on the front door, and gaping at me.

Noah sighs. “You look…”

I’ve never known him to be unable to articulate his thoughts, and that is honestly the best compliment I have ever received in my entire life.

“Off you go, you two,” Maddy says, nudging me back into the car.

I slide in as gracefully as I can, knowing that Noah is following my every move.
