My Review:


Imagine following a rabbit down a hole to discover a whole new world. Sound familiar? How about once you arrive in this world, everyone seems to know your name, like you’re a celebrity? Ring any bells? This is exactly what happens to Ethan Fox. One minute he’s on vacation with his family in sunny California and the next he’s underground in an alternate universe called The Residence. With him is Hayley, a girl his age with who he shares a connection. They become fast friends and this friendship will anchor them to each other as they maneuver through The Residence. The more they discover about the wicked plans of the Grimleavers, the more determined Ethan and Hayley are of stopping the evil lord in charge of the Grimleavers. Through many magical puzzles and riddles, they get closer to the truth. Will they solve the great mystery and unmask a traitor in their midst or will the Grimleavers silence them forever?


Ethan Fox and the Eyes of the Desert Sand is a magical adventure I couldn’t put down. From the first page to the last, I thoroughly enjoyed this book. Drawing inspiration from classic characters like Alice and Harry, E. L. Seer creates characters relatable to readers. Every child/teen/adult wants to know where they came from and wants to belong. This theme is prevalent throughout Ethan Fox and the Eyes of the Desert Sand. The descriptive narration is vivid, allowing the reader to become a part of the story. Like any imaginative fantasy, the world-building is quite intricate. E. L. Seer captures the reader’s imagination with the puzzles and riddles Ethan and Hayley need to solve. I found immense pleasure solving (or trying to) the puzzles and riddles. If I had to sum up Ethan Fox and the Eyes of the Desert Sand, it would be this: life is an adventure and it’s through exploring new worlds that you discover who you really are. Highly recommend!

Author Biography:


E. L. Seer is the author of the Ethan Fox Book series, Book #1, Ethan Fox and the Eyes of the Desert Sand. A soon to be series of magnificent novels featuring Ethan and Hayley. Seer was born in Sacramento, California before moving to the San Francisco Bay Area where he spent his career as a software engineer for thirty plus years. He started writing poetry and song lyrics as a young teen in high school. His talent evolved over the years, writing satirical sports columns for his fantasy football league. He owes much of his creativity to his wife, who recognized his descriptive flare and convinced him to explore writing more seriously. He holds a bachelor’s and master’s degree in engineering. Seer lives with his wife and their two dogs in Coeur D’Alene, Idaho (AMAZON – the other way around was BOWKER), where they enjoy frequent visits from their kids, grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
