My Review:


Vanessa seems to have been born under a bad sign. Though many will argue she has a tendency to walk under bad signs if they are around her. It doesn't get far into this book before one has to wonder if common sense is the course Vanessa skipped in high school.


The mystery and suspense in this book are first-rate. The reader is left to wonder exactly who is responsible for the things happening to Vanessa. Her relationship with Quinn carries the book as well.

It is something to say that the potential hazards of their relationship are really nothing compared to the day-to-day hazards she faces. The action scenes are powerful and gripping.


This is the second book in the Grant series, but it too works fine as a standalone. If you have had the pleasure of reading the first book, then this book will flow beautifully too.


Personally, I am very interested in the third book specifically for people finally getting what is coming to them. My two fave people I abhor are Hamlin and Sigrid. I have actually spent more than a few minutes coming up with multiple ways Sigrid could be slowly killed. I would pay $50 for a hardcover book that simply detailed the slow and permanent destruction of that horrific person.


A very well written book that will appeal to all fans of this series. If you are a fan of books with horses, then this will be for you too. The suspense is excellent, and the romance is creative. An excellent read and I can't wait for book three.
