Do you listen to audiobooks? Do you have a favorite? If you don’t listen to audiobooks, is there a particular reason why not?


I don’t listen to audiobooks. I multi-task all the time, but I can’t seem to make this work for me. On occasion when we drive to Red River, the setting for this book, we’ve listened to pod casts. This summer when we go, we’ll listen to TAINTED. Maybe I’ll find I really like it. While I have some reservations about AI, there wouldn’t be an audio version of this book without that option provided by Draft 2 Digital and Apple. I was pleasantly surprised at the quality of the recording. I could’ve recorded it myself (assuming I found a recording studio), but the time involved was the main factor that kept me from going that route. I hope you enjoy the book. I’d love to hear back from you about what you think of the overall quality. It will help me decide whether to pursue putting up other books using this technology.


What makes this a must-listen audiobook?


This is a wonderful second chances story with the old boyfriend trope. Not something I usually write, but it was perfect for these characters. The story was inspired by a real event when the FBI broke into a suspect’s home in the early hours. I couldn’t help but wonder how you’d feel if you, the unsuspecting spouse, were at home when that happened. Our family has gone to Red River for many summers to escape the heat of Texas summers. My daughters asked me one day why I hadn’t set a book there. It was a good question, and TAINTED is the result. Picture green mountains, streams, deer, great townspeople, and great shopping with enough danger thrown in to make you catch your breath.

Author Biography:


A retired elementary school principal, a former school board member, and theatre arts teacher, Marsha R. West writes Later in Life Romance, Suspense, and Second Chances. Experience Required. She lives in Texas with her supportive lawyer husband and Charley, a deaf, Chihuahua/Jack Russell Terrier. Their two daughters presented them with three delightful grandchildren all who live nearby.


The theme of Marsha’s ten books is always second chances, and she even has a four-part series titled The Second Chances Series. She believes in Happily Ever Afters. Her husband picked up a plaque for her on one of their several trips to Maine that states her philosophy exactly. Everything will be all right in the end. If it’s not all right, it’s not the end. The Heroines and Heroes in her books are in their 40s and 50s with their parents and children often playing supporting roles.
