My Review:

Looking for a mystery wrapped in a romantic suspense that’ll keep you guessing until the very end? The Art of Love and Murder is so much more than your average romantic suspense set in the heart of Arizona. Twists and turns abound, a love flourishes, and the truth is finally revealed in a way I never expected. The characters, though, are what drive this intense romantic suspense.

This is book one of this series and it’s simply a feast for a reader’s senses. Every detail, every emotion, every action is intricately described. The setting is in a small town in Arizona. Brenda Whiteside takes the reader into what makes the southwest so inviting. It’s very immersive writing and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

Like I mentioned above, the characters are what drive the plot. It’s through Lacy’s and Chance’s eyes the story unfolds. These characters are searching for truth not love, yet discover the answers to both. This romance is a second chance at love for them. I connected with Lacy and Chance while reading. I had no trouble rooting for them.

The suspense subplot is masterfully written. Secrets, lies, betrayal, and artwork surround Lacy as she researches her real parents. Why are people evading her questions? What really happened all those years ago? The more Lacy uncovers, the more danger she’s in. This is romantic suspense at its best.

If you’re a romantic suspense reader, dive into this compelling book. You’ll be just as addicted as me.
