Title: The Light at Corriveau Crossing: A Wardens of the Wild Novel

Author: Amber Cross

Genre: Literary Fiction, Fiction, Rural Romantic Fiction

Book Blurb:

For Levi Turner, home is a four letter word. Returning after thirteen years, he'll stay just long enough for his father to recover from surgery.

Carissa Michaud loves everything about the unincorporated patch of forest where she grew up. She can't imagine living anywhere else and never plans to leave.

This is a deep woods, remote rural story about coming to terms with family, the past, and one nosy, opinionated neighbor determined to make him see the light.

My Review:

Levi never thought he’d return home, much less want to stay, but he’s starting to see the light. For some people, home is where the heart is but for others, home is a dirty word. In The Light at Corriveau Crossing, the themes of family, coming home, and love are integral. Amber Cross tells a rich, vibrant, heartfelt story anyone can relate to. With descriptive narration, a cast of realistic characters, dramatic tension, and plenty of emotion, you won’t want to put down The Light at Corriveau Crossing.

The characters are what make this book an emotional read. I connected with all the characters, especially Levi and Carissa. I saw a lot of myself in Levi and his reactions to his family. I also saw bits of myself in Carissa. She’s a down-home heroine and a perfect partner for Levi. She speaks her mind which I loved.

The descriptive narration is rich in detail, emotion, and family saga. The writer describes each scene down to the last detail so the reader can dive into the story with its lush setting. Her narration shows a love of rural small-town life, and I thoroughly enjoyed it.

The writing skill of Amber Cross is impressive. Once I started reading, I couldn’t stop. The writing brings to light what it means to come home and deal with family drama. It’s genuine, wholesome storytelling at its best.

If you’re looking for high-quality fiction, you’ll want to read The Light at Corriveau Crossing.
