Title: Web of the Succubus

Author: Andrew P. Weston

Genre: Dark Fantasy, Horror, Paranormal

Book Blurb:

Augustus Thorne has his work cut out, trying to juggle his recuperating capabilities with a turbulent personal and professional life. On the plus side, things have improved dramatically with Colleen Wolf. But, as he endeavors to cement his relationship with her, events conspire against him.

It transpires there are elements within some of the most powerful human governments who are secretly collaborating with the demon court. Their goal being to turn the majority of mankind into chattel. Brood livestock, whose only purpose is to serve the demondim’s ghastly appetites. Augustus simply can’t allow that to happen. He sets out to frustrate Asmodai’s machinations, unaware that a spider is waiting in the dark.

And it’s ready to pounce.

My Review:

Wow, this series gets better and better. I’m a voracious dark fantasy/horror reader. When I got the opportunity to read and review this book, I pounced.

Let me first disclose that even though this is book three in the series, it can be read on its own. The author provides excellent backstory so any reader can jump in.

The characters are well-written with impressive clarity, wit, personality, and conflict. It’s a large cast of characters but you won’t get lost. They add richness to the overall story.

The plot is immense with several plotlines going on at the same time. The writing is sophisticated and progresses with precision so any reader can follow what’s going on.

The world-building is descriptive, realistic, and in a class all its own. The intertwining of demonology with human mythos is complex and a feast for your senses. If you crave complexity in your reading, you’ve come to the right place.

I loved this story and wait with anticipation for the next book in the series.

My Rating: 5+ stars
