"Computers crash, people die, relationships fall apart. The best we can do is breathe and reboot." -- Carrie Bradshaw, Sex and the City
I saw this quote on Twitter this morning and it's exactly how I'm feeling right now.
A friend of mine emailed me to say her and husband are getting a divorce. The pain, the anguish in her words hurt me, even though I'm just reading it. What she must be going through, what her kids are going through, I cannot imagine. But I hope and pray she figures out a way to breathe and reboot.
We all have gone through something similar and there's no way to prevent it. All we can do is work through the pain somehow, breathe deep breaths and reboot. While it seems like the end of the world, in reality, it's momentary. The pain will pass eventually and we'll move on. We've got to move on or else we'll be nothing more than a shell.
When we got hacked and shut down back in February, we could've given in to the pain and heartbreak and just closed our doors. We could've screamed at the world, "You broke us!" Instead, we swallowed the overwhelming anguish, took many deep breaths and rebuilt our business. It's a slow process and we're still working 18 hours a day but we're making progress (thanks to all of our wonderfully supportive followers).
Take my advice (and Carrie's) when hit with one of life's disasters. You'll get through it. It may take time but you'll make it. Keep breathing and reboot your life.
