Title: FROM DENVER TO FOREVER

Author: Cadence Vonn

Genre: Erotic Romance

Book Blurb:

Two stranded strangers...No commitment. No rules.

After discovering her boyfriend is into kink—and not with her—Emily Jameson wants to know what all the hype is about. When a blizzard strands her in the Denver airport, she meets a man perfect for satisfying her curiosity—and more than a few desires—in a lovers-only relationship. But after their first toe-curling kiss, she wonders if the no-strings bargain they've made is a mistake.

Mark Blacke always goes after what he wants, and the moment he sees Emily, he wants her. Fulfilling her fantasies will be a pleasure. Why wouldn't it be when she wants hot as sin sex and no fetish is off-limits? Falling for her isn't part of the plan, but if he tells her how he feels, he fears he'll lose the woman of his dreams...

Excerpt:

“Cute place.” Mark dropped his stuff inside the door and helped Emily with the food. He marveled at the comfort level they shared, knowing each other less than a week. He’d thought Nick had rushed his relationship with Allison, but now he understood the quickness. He and Emily clicked in the same way his brother had with his fiancée.

“I’ll give you the blazing-fast tour.” She slipped off her coat, hung it in the foyer closet, and waited while he shed his so she could hang it. “The water heater is behind the coats. You’re standing in the kitchen-slash-living room. The alcove ahead is the bedroom. First door in the alcove is the bathroom, and the second door is the closet. Make yourself at home.” She waved her arm at the empty space and laughed.

He peeked around the wall at the two doors she mentioned. “You could install one of those tension wires across this opening and hang curtains to divide the space.”

“I thought of that. But I don’t own a ladder, and I’m not sure I can reach high enough to screw in the turnbuckle system.”

“If you’d like, I’ll do it this weekend. I’m always helping Mom fix something in the house.”

She frowned. “You said the house. Do you live with your mother?”

“I live in the house I grew up in. It’s still Mom’s house, but as soon as she and Wilson find a place they want together, I’m going to buy it. Jonathan lives in the apartment above the garage, so he’ll pay me rent after I own it. My brother Luke isn’t sure where he’ll find a job, so he doesn’t want to own a house until he knows.”

“What about your other brother?”

“Nick lives with Allison. She inherited her father’s place, and it suits them both since she’s a sculptor and he’s into working on motorcycles. The place has a big workshop and a large swimming pond.”

“Sounds lovely.”

“Let’s eat. The food smells delicious and all of a sudden I’m starving.”

She dug into the bags, pulling out the paper plates and plastic silverware. “There’s soda in the refrigerator and scotch in the cupboard above the stove.”

“Did you buy it for me?” He opened the cupboard and pulled out the Glenfiddich.

“I didn’t know what else you might drink.” She shrugged.

“Thanks. I’ll save it for later. Right now I’ll just have what you’re having.”

“Ginger ale.”

“That’ll do.” They filled their plates and carried them over to the space in front of the sliders. Lights from the building illuminated the snow-covered trees. It gave a romantic glow to the darkness outside the window.

“Can I ask you a question?” She cast her eyes down and fiddled with her sandwich.

“Sure.” He tensed, afraid she had some comment about when this relationship would end.

“What do you think is the difference between a girlfriend and a lover?”

“How quickly you have sex. Fewer demands and more enjoyment. What do you see as the difference between a boyfriend and a lover?” He mentally crossed his fingers she wouldn’t say something like “lovers never get together in the end.”

“The sex part for sure. With you, I feel like I can tell you things I wouldn’t tell a boyfriend.”

“Give me an example.” Mark tightened his grip on his glass, hoping it had to do with sex and all the things she wanted to experience.

“For instance, I’d never tell a boyfriend about how my father or brothers act, knowing at some point they’d meet. I can tell you because you’ll never meet them. I can also tell you my dreams because I’m not worried they won’t mesh with yours. With a boyfriend, I’d worry he’d think I didn’t want a future with him. Am I making sense?”

“I think so. You see us having a limited time together.” The idea of “more” made his gut tighten. He needed to be careful not to change their agreement too quickly. It’d have to develop on its own if he wanted a chance at something permanent. He balled his napkin and paper plate and jumped up as if the floor had become too hot to remain seated.

“That’s not what I meant.” She scurried to her feet and followed him to the kitchen area. She ran her hands through her hair and sighed. “I could never talk about my future hopes and dreams with Jake. He assumed I’d follow his lead. I lost myself in his shadow. But with you, I can talk to you like you see me for me, no judgment or expectations. We talk, laugh, and have great sex. I don’t have to be anyone but me.”

He encircled her in his arms. “You never have to be anyone but yourself. I’m sorry I misunderstood you. I don’t like thinking about us being over when we haven’t even gotten started.”

She cuddled closer. “I agree. Remember, I want the whole Mr. Grey experience without all the baggage. As I see it, we haven’t scratched the surface.”
