He wasn’t trustworthy.

My heart was a wreck, and it was his fault.

Apache helicopter pilot.

Bossy and annoying.

Fun. Fit. Intelligent. Sexy.

Smoldering attraction.

The truth… I’m in love with a man I cannot trust, but I’ve been tricked into a weekend alone with him when I wanted to forget him. Tyler Grant

She branded me with a kiss.

I’m determined to claim her.

I’m used to respect, but Jana evaded me.

She doesn’t know the truth.

This was my only shot to make it right.

Will she give me a chance?

Out of desperation, I planned something Jana never expected, but she turned the tables on me once again. A Lipstick Valentine is the third book in The Lipstick Series. Each book features a unique couple with a HEA ending.

Excerpt:

I didn’t want him, I told myself descending the porch steps. I never wanted to experience that level of humiliation again. I didn’t want to hope that he’d really changed.

But as I climbed in my seat, he leaned over and fastened my seatbelt. Thick arms caressed me everywhere, and my heartbeat accelerated. I jerked and maneuvered, trying to put space between us, but he chuckled. His clean scent filled my nostrils, and my core clenched with denied need. I was in trouble.

So close. Too much temptation. His face turned to mine. Dimples formed on either side of his mouth. His lips spread in a sexy, teasing smile. Warm breath feathered over my lips, minty and fresh. I tensed in my seat. If he kissed me again, I didn’t know that I could resist. He jerked the seatbelt, and I swore my panties grew damp.

“Making sure you’re safe.”

The air swooshed from my lungs when he finally put distance between us, backed from the parking spot, and began the drive to Christine’s beach house.

“You’re unusually quiet, Jana,” he commented, a half hour into the two-hour drive. “Don’t tell me I scared you.”

“Not scared,” I casually answered, although my heart still raced. My cheeks heated when I noticed him staring from the corner of my eye. I shouldn’t have looked but turned anyway. I saw myself in his glasses, and that devious, perfect smile…damn him.

One arm rested on the steering wheel, and his other hand poised on the shifter. He was leaning toward me, one shoulder down, his shirt billowing in the breeze. Sunshine touched his features, highlighting everything I’d imagined caressing for entirely too long. A little scruff covered his chin from being on leave.

“You need to shave,” I stated, pointing at his chin.

“I don’t shave on the weekends. Remember?”

There was that smile again. And yes, I remembered everything…every touch, every word, every almost moment.

“Do I make you nervous, Jana?” He asked the question and turned back to the road.

“No.”

“I think you lie,” he stated, in his annoying way, glancing toward the ocean.

I did lie, but there was no way I was going to reveal how much I wanted him. A distraction was what I needed. “Why helicopters?”

His lips firmed. “I always had a thing for them. When I was younger, my dad flew for Care Flight in San Francisco. That’s what started the fascination. He took me up a couple times, and it was love.”

“And the military?”

“Travel, benefits, tuition.”

“What’s your mom do?”

He grinned at me again and inwardly I flinched.

“She’s a dental assistant.”

“The smile,” I remarked, not actually meaning to speak it aloud.

“You like my teeth?”

I laughed at being caught. “Yes. I like pretty teeth. I wore braces through my teenager years.”

“First kiss sucked, right?”

I chuckled at his comment because it was true. “How’d you know?”

“Mouth full of metal for years. The first girl I kissed busted her lip on my braces.”
