My Review:


Charlie inherits her mother’s power, but the legacy is in jeopardy when she uses her power to save innocent lives. Charlie Conners is your typical teenager whose life is torn asunder when she comes home to find dead bodies in her house. A family secret so alien to her, she can’t even comprehend it. Her mother’s from another planet? As cancer eats away at her mother’s body, Charlie takes a crash course in learning to master her newfound power. But when her mother dies, Charlie runs away. She winds up at an airport where a madman, or so she thinks, is shooting innocent people. Without thinking of the consequences, she pulls out her specially made gun and shoots. She’s surrounded by government agents who then try to recruit her. They drill her for hours, but she keeps her mouth shut. They then offer her a job she can’t refuse. As she trains to become an agent, she realizes her legacy of power is something the agency wants to exploit. Will she be able to kill without remorse? Will her secret stay secret, or will she become an unfeeling monster?


Legacy of Power: Season 1 is a thrilling episodic YA science fiction I couldn’t put down. Like your favorite television show, each chapter is an episode in the life of Charlie Conners. All thirty episodes are gathered in this book, and I couldn’t stop reading. The plot moves at a fast pace with loads of intrigue, suspense, action, and emotion. I connected with Charlie right away. She is weighed down with a lot of pressure, but she responds honestly which adds authenticity to the story. The descriptive narration is deep and plunges the reader into the story. If you’ve read any of C.C. Bolick’s other series, you will recognize characters but in younger roles. The action is pretty intense at times but so is the emotional tension. A brilliant start to a new series, Legacy of Power: Season 1 is binge-worthy. If you’re a fan of YA sci-fi, you need to read this book. If you’re looking for the next episodic series to read, download Legacy of Power: Season 1. I can’t wait to read the next season. Highly recommend!

Author Biography:


C.C. Bolick grew up in south Alabama, where she’s happy to still reside. She’s an engineer by day and a writer by night—too bad she could never do one without the other.


Camping, fishing… she loves the outdoors and the warm Alabama weather. For years she thought up stories to write and finally started putting them on paper back in 2006. If you hear her talking with no one to answer, don’t think she’s crazy. Since talking through her stories works best, a library is her worst place to write… even though it’s her favorite!


C.C. loves to mix sci-fi and paranormal—throw in a little romance and adventure and you’ve got her kind of story. She’s written a dozen books including the Leftover Girl series, The Agency series, and The Fear Chronicles. Her serial, Legacy of Power, is a prequel to the other books.
