My Review:
Marcus never expected to fall in love with his own wife but by Twelfth Night, he’ll have a difficult choice to make. Marcus knows love only leads to pain so he made himself a promise to never give his heart away. He never wanted a wife but thanks to her scheming father, Faith is his wife, at least in name only. As Lord Hawthorne, he keeps his wife at his country estate while he lives in London. It’s Christmastide so he returns to his country estate to find his wife the perfect hostess. The more time he spends in her company, the more he realizes how much he wants her. She’s kind, thoughtful, and beautiful. How did this happen? How did Marcus fall in love with his own wife? There’s no escaping the truth. Does Faith feel the same as Marcus? As love breaks through the walls around his heart, can Marcus gift Faith what she desires most?
Mistletoe Waltz is a stunning holiday Regency romance that touched my heart. In Regency era, so many marriages were arranged and in name only. A woman was often bartered and banded about like chattel, something gained for taking a wife. Alanna Lucas portrays this part of the Ton’s history with precision and delicate emotion. The plot moved at a great pace with Christmas in Regency times on full display. The descriptive narration is intricate which allowed me to fully immerse myself in the story. It was quite enjoyable to watch Marcus fall in love and lose his heart to his wife. Their chemistry had me whipping through the pages to see what would happen next. If you’re like me and a die-hard Regency romance reader, pick up Mistletoe Waltz. If historical romance is your reading jam, you’ll want to read Mistletoe Waltz. A brilliant holiday romance from start to finish, Mistletoe Waltz will sweep you away. Highly recommend!
