SONJA GUNTER

Genre:

FANTASY ROMANCE

Book Blurb:

Love. Magic. Danger.

Could these three words articulate distinct spiritual essences to fuse together?

Bookstore owner, Opaline Lunn, facilitates a Speed Dating Event, in hopes of finding her soulmate. She meets attendee Detective Eamon Dayan, who wasn’t looking for love, but sparks fly at their first kiss.

Together they unearth Opaline’s powers which lead to the discovery that she has two sisters, and someone called The Ancient One who wants to kill them.

Unraveling a myriad of mysteries, with Opaline’s newfound ability to do spells, the soulmates must find her sisters by her twenty-fifth birthday to be able to confront the evil force and save all of them.

Excerpt:

“I’m sorry, Opaline. I’m just very protective.”

“I don’t have a problem with that. And was that an

invite for me to spend the night at your house?”

Her teasing reply provoked a shocked look from

Eamon, but only for an instant before a sparkle lit up his

blue eyes.

“You’re as bad as my sister, Ms. Lunn.”

“Should I take that as a compliment?” His use of her

full name had her wondering if she had overstepped, and

she berated herself for doing so.

“You’ll have to ask her.”

Opaline laughed, thankful it appeared she hadn’t been

too presumptuous. Their conversation took on a new

direction to how the event had turned out. Side by side,

they walked to the hotel’s registration desk.

Once she paid the bill, she turned to Eamon. “Thank

you for helping with cleaning up the room and for the two

great dates.”

“You’re welcome. And it’s me who should thank you.

Can I walk you to your car?”

His earlier comment about being protective came back

to her. She found his offer gracious and wondered if he

was this way with all the women he dated.

“That would be great. But I don’t have a car. I drive a

SUV.”

“Interesting. I took you for a sports car type of

woman.”

He retrieved a couple of her bags from the floor. She

shook her head as they walked to her blue Chevy Tahoe,

feeling as if they had done this a hundred times. “Well,

this is my baby.”

Pressing her key fob, the doors unlocked. Eamon put

her bags into the back seat. She closed the door and

turned. Eamon was right next to her.

“Opaline, I’ve wanted to kiss you all night. May I?”

What a gentleman.

His presence was soothing and sensual at the same

time. She nodded and emptied the space between them.

He placed his hands on her arms, drawing her closer, and

lowered his head. Her senses were out of control. She

closed her eyes, waiting for his lips to cover hers.

She felt his breath on her lips first, then his mouth.

Firm but soft. His lips brushed against hers lightly. Then

they were gone. Opening her eyes, she found him staring

at her. A desire so drugging filled her with a craving.

She wanted more.

As she slid her arms over his chest, she initiated the

second kiss. Their mouths hungrily searched each other’s.

This was a kiss like no other. Her body pressed against his.

She wanted something more.

Then his mouth left hers, and a cool breeze brushed

her now-swollen lips. “Oh, my goodness.”

“Opaline, I...”

“Don’t,” she said, placing a finger on his lips. “I wanted

this too.”

“I would never force or press you to do something we

both might regret later. The gentleman in me has resurfaced

and knows that an invite to my place would be inappropriate

at this time.”

“I agree.” She released her hold on him, and he did the

same. Stepping out of his arms, she found the circle of

comfort they had provided had vanished. “We never

settled on a time for our dinner date tomorrow.”

Eamon took her hand into his, and she felt her pulse

begin to quicken. Was he going to kiss her again? She

wanted him too.

“Should we say six thirty? I’ll pick you up.”

“That’s a little old-fashioned. I can meet you.”

“Then it wouldn’t be a true date,” he said.

“Fine. Pick me up at six thirty. My address is 104 Main

Street.”

“Got it,” Eamon stated. He leaned in and kissed her.

This time, she was breathing heavily when they

finished. He released her hand and opened the truck door

for her. She climbed in and waved goodbye.

As Opaline pulled away, she couldn’t help but glance

in the rearview mirror for one last look at the most

amazing thing that had come her way in a very long time.

A man named Eamon.

Author Biography:

I was born and raised in the cold and beautiful Minnesota, but I escaped to Illinois for seventeen years to raise my two boys, and now I call Florida home. My husband Andy, who’s always been my hero, has put up with my late night computer typing and endless stacks of papers with my stories on them. We have one furry friend as family: Chip, a sixteen year old ragdoll cat.

Life has been full of ups and downs, but I’ve made it through the hard times. I love to travel and go to Disney World to trade pins.  I’ve been a bowler for many years, and you can catch me writing my next novel at the lanes.

I encourage you to check out my web site, www.sonjagunter.com for more info and don’t be surprised if I let my Norwegian heritage come through in my stories.
