Excerpt:
Just inside the ballroom on a small dais, Austin chatted with the musicians in the three piece band, who smacked him on the back and wandered off. He sat on the stool, fiddled with his guitar, then adjusted the microphone. His dark hair fell across his brow and his sooty eyelashes rested on the top of his cheekbones. He was heartbreakingly handsome.
He leaned in and addressed the guests. “Hi everyone, For the first dance, I’ve got a special song for my big brother and his beautiful bride. It’s called Beautiful You. So clear the dance floor and make way for Ryan and Charlie.”
Guests clapped as the newlyweds entered the small dance floor. Ryan pulled Charlie close, and she wound her arms around his neck. Bliss radiated off the golden-haired couple, who were lost in each other’s eyes.
The moment Austin strummed the opening chord, the room grew silent, then his haunting, husky voice filled the high-ceilinged room. Goosebumps rose along every inch of her skin. He sang of gazes locking, hearts longing, once in a lifetime chances.
With each gorgeous word, a magnetic pull drew her to him. The party, the reception dropped away. Out of her peripheral vision, the happy couple twirled slowly on the dance floor, like something out of a dream.

Claire started writing stories as soon as she was old enough to pick up pencil and paper. After graduating from the University of Virginia with a BA in English Literature and French, Claire was sidetracked by other careers, including practicing law, selling software for legal publishers, and managing a non-profit animal rescue for a Hollywood actress.
