Title: The Essence of Whiskey and Tea

Author: Stacey Wilk

Genre: Contemporary Women’s Fiction

Book Blurb:

Twenty-five years ago, Savannah Savage-Montgomery spoke four little words that sent her first love running. Forced to get on with her life, she met another man, married him, and raised a family. Now her past has returned, and JT's presence threatens to unhinge the emotional façade she constructed.

JT Davies left Heritage River as the least likely to succeed, but he's back and ready to prove his worth, especially to the only woman he's ever loved. He'll start by winning the catering spot for the town's anniversary event. But the problem is he'll have to push Savannah out to do it.

Savannah wants to protect her reputation and her late husband's memory, but she can't stay away from JT. She will be forced to choose between a happy family, a successful business, and the only man who ever made her feel like herself.

Excerpt:

Savannah banged on JT’s front door until her knuckles hurt. The porch light came on, and the door swung open.

“Are you trying to bang the door down?” He stood there with one hand on the handle. His dark hair was brushed back. The top waved slightly. He wore a black button-down shirt tucked into tight jeans. Several of the top buttons were undone revealing some of his pec muscles.

She fisted her hands to keep them from touching him. Heat burned her center and traveled low. The sight of him made her knees weak, but she had to stay strong.

“Keep your daughter away from my son.”

He stepped onto the porch and closed the door behind him. “Do you mind keeping your voice down? Maddy might hear you. Are you going to tell me that you don’t want your son seeing my daughter anymore? That maybe she isn’t good enough for him since her daddy doesn’t seem good enough for you.”

“This isn’t about us.”

“Maybe it should be.”

“JT, put your ego on a shelf. We have a problem on our hands. They’re getting too intimate.”

“I don’t have a problem with them.”

“I didn’t care they were hanging out until today. She dared him to shave his privates.”

“She did what?” He gritted his teeth and ran a hand over his face. “Jesus Christ, she’s trying to kill me. Did he do it?”

What’s the first binge-worthy book you read and why was it a must-read?

I can’t remember the very first binge-worthy book I read because I’ve been devouring books since I was in elementary school. But recently, I would have to say just about anything by Stephen King because he is the master at character development and voice. Or Brenda Novak’s s Evelyn Talbot Chronicles series. I love her mix of suspense and romance.

What makes your featured book a binge-worthy read?

The Essence of Whiskey and Tea will take you on an emotional ride filled with rich and complex characters who will quickly become the family you want to visit with.

Author Biography:

From an early age, Stacey Wilk told tales as a way to escape. At six she wrote short stories in composition notebooks, at twelve she wrote a novel on a typewriter, in high school biology she wrote rock star romances in her binder instead of paying attention.

But it wasn’t until many years later, inspired by her children and a looming birthday, that she finally took her story-telling seriously. And published her first novel in 2013. Since then, she’s gone on to publish fourteen more so women everywhere could fall in love and find an escape of their own.

She isn’t done telling stories. Not by a long shot. If you want to read her emotional and honest books about family, romance, and second chances, visit her at www.staceywilk.com
