Have you ever wanted to express your love through poetry but got hung up on the format or trying to figure out what rhymes with eyes? Writing poetry isn’t hard and in fact, when you write freestyle (which we do), the rules go out the window. You don’t have to rhyme at all, unless you want to.

A love poem is simply your thoughts and feelings on paper. If you put music to it, you’d have a song. If you put a backbeat to it, you’d have a rap.

It does, however, have a flow to it. Each line is concise and expresses one thought. Here’s an example:

Roses are red,

Violets are blue,

Your bulging muscles

Make me weak.

See? It may sound corny and make you chuckle, but it brings a visual of how much I love watching Mr. N do 525 push-ups every morning.
