Think about it this way... any recipe in the world calls for a pinch of salt. Why is that? A pinch of salt compliments the rest of the flavors. Sure, you can omit it but the food doesn't taste the same. The combination of ingredients needs that pinch of salt to come together. When it does blend together, it is pure magic!
