In the United States, today is National Teacher Day or Teacher Appreciation Day.
Teachers have, for the most part, influenced me in a positive way. They've opened my eyes to the world and taught me to embrace diversity, see the best in others and to make a difference in the world. They taught me to trust my instincts, try new things and to step outside my comfort zone. They taught me failure is part of life and to keep going.
My grandfather was a teacher and he said while it's a thankless job, the rewards are seeing a child grow and bloom into who he/she/they are meant to be.
Thank you to all the teachers for your hard work, dedication and help mould children into the leaders of tomorrow. You are the gatekeepers to the future and I'm grateful to you all.
Thank a teacher today and offer your support. Make them feel special because they are.
