Stop Letting Your Inner Critic Control Your Actions! Face Fear and Overcome! #FridayFeeling #inspira

Do you have a fear of failure?

Many writers/artists do and I used to. Well, if I'm honest, I still do. No one likes to fail.

Anything worth doing has risk and the potential for failure. It's how it works.

I tried something new in June. I created a Pride Month Promotional Event. Every day, I'm spotlight a LGBTQ author or book. This was a first for me. I had never done this kind of month-long promo before and let me tell you, fear kept nudging me.

You can't do this.

You'll be a failure and will be the laughing-stock of the book community.

You'll look like a fool.

You'll lose followers.

You're no good and all you'll be is a quitter.

On and on it went, but I stuck with it. June first came and I started the Promotion With Pride event. I had fun and thought to myself, "This is easy."

Then I got attacked and the pressure started to build. They called it stupid and idiotic. I was ready to quit. No one would blame me, if I quit.

But I would know and MR N would know.

So, I continued. I pushed through and I am so glad I did! It's the top category on our website and more than that, readers are checking out these books. They're realizing queer fiction is just like other fiction. The stories are emotional and moving while the characters are realistic.

I faced failure in the face and instead of quitting, I winked.

Failure isn't the big bad monster everyone says. Even if I had quit the promo, I would have survived. But I stayed the course and I defeated my fear.

Are you facing failure in the face in the midst of life's challenges?

You can defeat your fear of failure. You're stronger than you know.

The amazing can only be created by facing fear, risk and failure during the process!
