Success is not achieved in a day and you don't do it alone.

Who you are tomorrow (successful) begins with what you do today.

I had a strange encounter the other day. I was talking with a couple of fellow authors. The topic got around to success and making it onto bestseller lists. One of the authors made a brash statement.

"You're right, it does take a lot of work to make it but I did it all by myself."

We all looked at her as if she sprouted antennas from her mop of brown hair. She's a published author with a large publisher. Of course she didn't do it alone. Every single person from her editor to her cover artist to her PR person to the numerous book bloggers/reviewers contributed to her success. Don't even get me started on the readers who bought and read her book.

As a author myself, I'm so grateful to all the people who've helped me along the way. Even the people who dissed my writing gave me the push I needed to keep going.

Successful people know the secret to success is to surround yourself with people who will be truthful and push you to be your very best. When success happens, you thank those who helped you get there.

While you're on the road to success, remember what you do today will impact who you become in the future.
