What's the greatest gift you can give this holiday season?

Your time.

The holiday season is in full swing and there are tons of holiday gift guides in my inbox. Everyone is ready to help me spend my money on the perfect gift. The reality is, for many of us, the greatest gift we can receive is spending time with those we care about.

I remember years ago baking Christmas cookies with my grandmother. I'd come over after school and help her bake cookies. In between batches, she'd help me with my homework. It was a special time for both of us.

When I asked her what she wanted for Christmas, she hugged me and said, "This."

See, I didn't need to go to the mall and buy her a sweater she'd never wear or a necklace she'd wear once in awhile. All I needed to give her was my time.

The greatest gift you can give someone is your time. It's more valuable than gold or silver. Quality time together creating happy memories is the most precious gift of all.
