Take my advice and remember failure is just a stepping stone to success.

We all deal with failure. No one likes to fail. The key to success, though, is to learn what went wrong and to try again. It may take several times to get something right but with each failure, you're one step closer to success.

Last Tuesday, I made cookie dough to bake on Wednesday. If I was honest with you, my mind wasn't on the task at hand but on a work-related issue I was dealing with. Halfway through the mixing, I realized I added double the amount of sugar to the recipe. There wasn't any way to fix it so I threw it out.

Was I beating myself up? You bet. I'm a baker and I've done this recipe a thousand and five times. But after a minute, I gave myself a shake and added a few things to my grocery list for the next day.

The next day, I got my ingredients together and made the cookie dough. I baked off the cookies and they were a hit. My husband told me they were the best I've ever made.

I failed the first time but when I tried the second time, they were my best ever.

Take comfort in knowing we all deal with failure and disappointment. The key is to shake yourself off, learn from your mistakes, adjust your approach and try again.
