My Review:
Finally, the long-awaited sequel to A Portion of Malice is here. Once more fans of this series will be thrilled to get into this powerful and gripping book. Here, many levels are explored. Heavenly heights to hellish lows, turmoil-filled Earth, and the addled mind of the anti-hero of anti-heroes Emery make this a compelling read.
The inner battle with addiction fought by Emery is incredibly well portrayed. Who in the midst of this battle hasn't felt it wasn't a titanic battle between good and evil?
Fans of ‘Sympathy for the Devil’ will just absorb this book while reading. If you have spent decades envisioning the lyrics of that song in your head, you now have a new tool. There are scenes in this jaw-droppingly well-written book that will have you humming 'pleased to meet you...'
I will not give away anything specific because you must reward yourself by reading this book. Possibly the most jaw dropping conclusion to any book written this century. Do not pass go, just get your hands on A Measure of Rhyme.
The flow of the book keeps the reader glued to the work. Fans of the incredible first book must read this one. If you are a fan of Dan Brown and haven't discovered these books yet, then do so right now. Now the world must bide its time and wait for what will be an amazing third book of this series.

Lloyd Jeffries enjoys dark comedies, philosophy, clever turns of phrase, religious studies and thought experiments involving the esoteric and legendary. A decorated veteran of numerous conflicts, he served in the U.S. military and has practiced Emergency, Trauma and Wilderness medicine for more than twenty years.
