Title: A Warrior of Eden

Author: G.S. Kenney

Genre: Science Fiction Adventure, Coming of Age

Book Blurb:

Fiercely independent teen Karoline wants to prove herself worthy to join Eden’s resistance, which her father led until his death fighting the evil Black Lord's army. When her domineering stepfather, the resistance’s new leader, secretly meets with a captain of the enemy army, Karoline suspects treachery. Faced with a sinister plot that threatens not only her life and the captain’s, but also the future of all Eden, can she live up to her birthright?

My Review:

A wonderful adventure awaits as you join Karoline on what is her chance to grow. The threat against Eden continues and it just may take a young woman of 14 to make the difference. It could be said it isn't how old Karoline is but how courageous she is.

The introduction of new characters to the story is very well done. Although part three of a five-part series, this book reads well as a standalone. Be advised though, if you like this, you will want to read them all. This is a well-written book with lush descriptions. The mystery and adventure keep the reader guessing.

If you have read the first two parts of this series, then this is a must-read for you. Once you have read this book, you will be clamoring to read all the others in the series. A great adventure series that will appeal to fans of interstellar conflict stories. A fun read that will lead to a reader enjoying the whole series.

Author Biography:

Author G. S. Kenney (Ginger) started reading early, and never stopped. In kindergarten, drawn in by an interesting book with a picture of three witches at a cauldron, she learned to read by starting with Macbeth. Now she writes speculative fiction. Her science-fiction romance novel Freeing Eden, published by Soul Mate Publishing in May, 2019, was a 2018 finalist in the Golden Heart® contest of the Romance Writers of America. The Last Lord of Eden, the second novel in the Ascent of Eden series, is also published by Soul Mate.

Interested in many fields, Ginger studied the “Great Books” at St. John’s College, architecture at Harvard, and financial planning at Boston University. She has also conducted post-doctoral research in psychology at the Center for Creative Leadership in Greensboro, North Carolina, and developed software systems. In addition to writing fiction, Ginger is an avid photographer. She has traveled to six of the seven continents, and has the photographs to prove it. You can see her travelogues and photography on her website at

After years of cold winters in Massachusetts, Ginger and her husband followed their children west in 2014, realizing their dream of moving to the milder climate of northern California. In an effort to walk 10,000 steps a day, she treks up and down the foothills of Mt. Tamalpais, and is thankful every day for her good fortune to live in such a beautiful place.
