Title: Borrowing the Bride: A Billionaire Romance
Author: KyAnn Waters
Genre: Steamy Romance, Contemporary Romance, Billionaire Romance
Book Blurb:
Money never bought him what he really wanted…and money only ever bought her trouble.
Ben Larsen needs a deterrent. His family wants to see him married. Maybe it’s time to give them what they want. His best friend, Amber Croft is engaged, but not to him. If he borrows her for the week, he’ll make his mother happy, and it would finally show his ex that he’s moved on.
Amber needs perspective. She’s engaged but she’s beginning to wonder if she’s marrying the wrong man. She’s pretending to be Ben’s fiancé, although the kissing and touching are real.
The ruse is working perfectly, but lies, betrayal and a billion dollars carry a high price. Will it cost them their friendship and destroy their relationship?
My Review:
A fake engagement between two friends leads to complications and love. Ben and his best friend, Amber, are inseparable. While she’s engaged to his military buddy, she’s off-limits. But that doesn’t stop his heart yearning for sweet Amber. With his family pressuring him to marry, a plan falls into place, kind of. Amber offers to be his pretend fiancée to get his mother and his ex off his back. He agrees. The next week proves to be a stress test for both Ben and Amber. There’s nothing fake about the way he feels about Amber. His caresses are real, as are his kisses. He wants Amber for his very own, but truths come out that threaten to sever his heart in two. Can his borrowed bride become his real bride who loves him in spite of his money, or will the lies tear them apart?
Borrowing the Bride is a steamy military rom com I couldn’t stop reading. This romance blends a few tropes and is an unforgettable read. From the get-go, I connected with Ben. He’s such a sweet guy and deserves honest-to-goodness love. He’s in the military and his best bud is engaged to the woman Ben secretly loves. It’s a not-so-new twist on a love triangle, but KyAnn Waters adds her own spin to this trope. There’s a huge amount of chemistry between Ben and Amber. It was great fun seeing them dance back and forth. Sure, they have a lot of feelings and lies to overcome but it made the ending all the juicier. There are plenty of scenes with humorous dialogue which is my reading jam. Any romance reader who loves steamy romance needs to read Borrowing the Bride. KyAnn Waters is a scintillating writer who writes unforgettable characters and hot romance. Her stories are relatable, honest, and realistic romance and you don’t want to miss out. Highly recommend!
