Title: Finders Keepers, Cowboy

Author: Rachelle Paige Campbell

Genre: Sweet Contemporary Western Romance

Book Blurb:

Meg Hawke’s antique store is faltering. When her octogenarian neighbor Hank asks her to clean out his shed and sell antiques on consignment, she has a real chance at discovering forgotten treasure. If she steps foot on the Montana ranch, however, she’ll come face-to-face with her childhood frenemy and Hank’s grandson, Ryan.

After selling off the ranch’s cattle years before, Ryan Kincaid dove into the world of high-end tourism, devoting everything to the business. For his sanity, he avoids his annoying known-her-since-childhood neighbor, Meg. With the forced proximity of the shed project happening in his backyard, though, he’s singing a different tune. Perhaps he’d been wrong about her.

A surprise discovery spurs both change and challenge, and they’re forced to choose the potential of ever-after or forget each other and finally move on forever.

My Review:

Can childhood rivals finally discover love in each other's arms, or will Meg and Ryan stay away for good? Finders Keepers, Cowboy is a frenemies to lovers wholesome western romance set in Montana. Rachelle Paige Campbell is one of my favorite wholesome romance authors. She brings such emotional tension to this story. The descriptive narration is very immersive, and I swear, I want to live in Montana. The romance is a slow build with a lot of turmoil. But it's the characters who make this an unforgettable read.

Let's start with those characters. I connected with Meg right away. She's such a wonderful heroine with her own insecurities. She's fun. flirty, and talks a lot. She's got a heart of gold, and her compassion makes her so lovable. She's also in a bit of a bind. Hank tries helping her but that only brings her face-to-face with Ryan, her childhood rival. He despises her for some unknown reason. She doesn't know why. What happens next takes her and Ryan into uncharted territory. Can she get her happily ever after with Ryan or will she go it alone?

My favorite character is Hank, Ryan's grandfather. He's an old man but has a soft spot for Meg. He also sees what they do not. He's a wise man and reminded me of my own grandfather.

Ryan is under a lot of strain. He's trying to make the ranch a viable business, but he'd do better if Meg would stay away. She distracts him and that's no good. I like Ryan. He's a grumpy hero who needs some sunshine. That sunshine is Meg.

The descriptive narration brings the setting of Montana to life. Every scene is expertly detailed. Every nuance is described, and I found myself transported.

If you love childhood rivals, frenemies to lovers, grumpy sunshine, all in your romance with a western setting and a cowboy hero, you will adore Finders Keepers, Cowboy. It's the first in a brand-new series so it's the perfect time to dive in.

My Rating: 5 stars
