My Instagram page is getting more likes and comments every time I add a new haiku, and more people and poets are following me. I hate to admit this, but my account is giving me some joy at a time when I don’t feel too good about my life. I can’t wait to sit down with my colored pencils at the end of the day and illustrate my little poems. I’m composing all the time in my head. If I’m in the shower or doing something and can’t stop to jot down words, I try to memorize them until I can get to my notebook. My fingers flutter as I count syllables: five, seven, five.
