My Review:


A soldier seeking solace in a cabin away from the world rescues a woman hunted by killers, not realizing he’s put himself in the crosshairs of death. Vann served his country, and he has the scars to prove it. He’s broken, battered, and suffering from PTSD. His only lifeline is his secluded cabin miles away from a small town in Texas. Oh, and his dog who takes care of him better than any doctor ever did. While in town picking up groceries, he spots a woman running for her life. He’s seen that look of sheer terror while overseas. His instincts kick in and he scoops her up and takes her back to his cabin. She’s on the run from trained killers and her guarded secrets could get them all killed. Can Vann protect her from harm while guarding his heart or is she the love the white rune promised long ago?


Jagged Feathers is a riveting romantic suspense I couldn’t stop reading. From the very first page, my heart went out to Vann. He’s been through so much and deserves someone to love. Nakina is a woman on the run and her plight tugged at my heartstrings. The POV and descriptive narration are deep, emotional, and immersive which make for an incredible reading experience. The more I read, the more invested I became in the characters and storyline. The plot is well-conceived with equal parts action, romance, and suspense. Jan Sikes writes a riveting story with lots of pulse-pounding moments. The romance is well-done with plenty of ‘will they or won’t they’ tension-filled scenes. Brilliant from start to finish, this book needs to be read by the masses. If you’re looking for an unputdownable romantic suspense, pick up Jagged Feathers. I can’t recommend this book enough.
