Luscious Bite, An Enchanted Mates Romance by Sara Ohlin is a Stress Busting Festival pick #paranormalromance #pnr #romance #giveaway

Title: Luscious Bite, An Enchanted Mates Romance

Author: Sara Ohlin

Genre: Paranormal Romance, Contemporary Paranormal Romance

Book Blurb:

Dr. Nikolav Sarkozy has had centuries to perfect his arrogance, but his cold vampire soul is no match for the beautifully joyful ER doctor, Francesca Banetti.

Cursed never to drink blood or enjoy pleasure from a human again until he finds his mate, Niko has lived an extremely lonely vampire life. When he walks into Mercy General Hospital and meets Francesca, his penance crashes down around him.

Francesca is a healer, but with her haunted past, she keeps her witch status hidden. While she excels at saving lives, she flourishes when infusing her magic into food, doting on her niece and nephew, and teasing Niko, of course.

Niko is everything bleak and miserable. Francesca is laughter, light, and love. He craves her but denies the ancient instinct whispering she belongs to him. But when a sinister demon threatens her and her family, he steps up and vows to protect them. He had no idea she would tear down the chains around his soul.

Seven hundred years is an awfully long time to be alone. Perhaps the time has come to find his enchanted mate.

CW: Talk of death and killing. Past death of parents and grief. Death of patients in hospital. Demon targeting women. Talk of gruesome attacks by demon.

Excerpt:

He’d put himself at the window again, far away from her, facing the sky, dismissing her with his body too, gravelly voice be damned. Well, fine. She didn’t need someone ordering her around, especially not some infernal, exasperating domineering male. She stood, swiped up the small bowl of pudding, and swallowed another bite. The joy in it was gone now too. Double damn. But she wouldn’t let him see it. She gave in to the pleasure and let out a small moan at the dark sinful chocolate. Niko placed his hands on the glass. Apparently, he couldn’t wait to claw his way out of the room to escape her.

She made her way toward the door. Her frustration bubbled over. “Look, I know you don’t want me here, interfering in your life.” She tossed out the words with all the pride she could manage. “So—” In a flash, her back was up against the wall, Niko’s hands pressing into either side of her head, his mouth so close to hers, the bowl of pudding thudding to the floor.

Whoa.

His intensity scared her, but not in the way that meant she was afraid of him, just how powerfully he controlled his tension. And how amazing that tension felt against her.

“I want you here,” he whispered in a tortured voice.

“What’s happening?” she whispered back. “I… Nikolav…” Her pulse beat everywhere. She sucked in a labored breath and with it his scent. It was like a drug to her, forbidden and mysterious.

“Christ, my name, on your lips. Say it again.” He rested his forehead gently against hers.

“Nikolav.” Francesca wished to touch him.

“Don’t ever say I don’t want you. There isn’t a word strong enough to describe how I feel about you. Ache for? Desire? I crave you so much it hurts. I’ve been burning for you since the first time I saw you.” Niko dragged his nose across her cheek, down her neck, and back up. She’d blame it on exhaustion, but her head dipped to the side giving him more room. “My God, you’re exquisite.” No one had ever called Francesca such a precious word in her life. “Why do you always smell of roses? Do you bathe in them? I want every inch of you.”

The words were bold and dangerous, swirling around her, inside her. He moved into her, pressing his body slightly against hers and she felt every decadent hard inch of him.

“Then why…” Her words were a shaky mess. Words whispered in the dark, the two of them so close, his lips a breath away from her neck, her pulse fluttering toward him. “Why do you push me away?” She wasn’t brave enough to say the rest out loud. “When what I wish is for you to touch me everywhere. To have your hands, your mouth, your teeth worshiping me.”

It was like she struck him with a lit flame how fast he shoved himself off. They stood feet apart, the air charged and heavy with lust, a storm about to ravage the land, thunder and lightning fighting a pulsing dance in the sky, a push and pull. Her skin was electrified with anticipation, her breasts heavy with need, her core desperate and aching where his hard length had throbbed against her. All that from a whisper-quick meeting of their bodies. How fabulous it would be to do this dance naked. And she had no doubt it would be a dance.

“Nikolav,” she pleaded.

His eyes burned that glorious flowing silver combined with something else. As if he was being tortured, glimpses of trauma and regret flashed in his eyes. “I…I’m no man for you. I can’t have you, Francesca. I can never have you.”

Before she could blink, he was gone, disappeared in a flash of pain, leaving her standing alone in a dark library, her heart threatening to burst from her chest. He’s afraid. The powerful, magnificent Nikolav Sarkozy was afraid, and she didn’t have a clue why.
