Title: Paper Cut: A Love Taboo

Author: LNora

Genre: Erotic Romance, African American Romance, Steamy Taboo Romance

Book Blurb:

English literature teacher and erotica writer Mark Jones grows up not knowing much about his family. This curiosity has left him with a void and desire to know love and his history in a profound way. Fate steps in one day when Mark meets Miranda Parker who he falls for but soon discovers she beholds a dark secret. Through an odd twist of fate, Mark discovers from one of his students’ papers some disturbing news about who Miranda is and the life she leads. Will fate be enough to keep the couple together once the shocking discovery is revealed?

My Review:

They say love cuts like a knife but what happens when you fall for the wrong man? Miranda is married but she’s not sure she loves him anymore. She does love Mark, though, and has been having an affair with him for some time. Being with Mark feels so right so how can it be wrong? Her life spirals out of control when her husband finds out about the affair. Miranda has no idea the turmoil to come when she discovers she’s not only pregnant but who Mark is. Their love is as taboo as it gets but will it tear them apart or bring them closer together?

Paper Cut: A Love Taboo is an emotional erotic romance featuring diverse characters. I love reading erotic romance that has characters with completely different life experiences than my own. This is a new author to me, and I went in with an open mind. I enjoyed the dual POV and both Miranda and Mark were fascinating characters. Their romance drove the plot which I appreciated. The plot overall was good with emotional narration and flirty dialogue. Things got a little muddled as the author incorporated Mark’s erotica vignettes which distract the reader from Miranda and Mark’s romance. The transitions weren’t as crisp as they could be. I really wanted to love Paper Cut: A Love Taboo but the story got lost. This book could be magnificent with some help from a professional editor. The shocking secret in Paper Cut: A Love Taboo made me gasp aloud. I’ve never seen that in any romance before. Well done! If you love diverse romance, pick up Paper Cut: A Love Taboo. If you’re a fan of taboo erotic romance, pick up Paper Cut: A Love Taboo.

My Rating: 4.5 stars
