My Review:


Everything comes down to this moment and Augustus is ready. Are you? Wow, this is an epic conclusion to this series! I had such high expectations for this book, and it totally exceeded my wildest dreams. The world-building is flawless and took the story of Augustus full circle. The action took my breath away. The characters, all of which I’ve become attached to, leap from the page and into my heart. The final battle stole my breath. Everything combined to make Rise of the Despoiler one of the best books I’ve read this year.


It starts and ends with the world-building. Andrew P. Weston is like a world-renowned sculptor who uses words to create a work of art. Each word is just a lump of clay on its own but molded together with other words is beautiful. He takes something from his imagination and makes it comes alive. I could live in a world he creates. It’s that believable.


The characters are three-dimensional beings in Rise of the Despoiler. Augustus is my favorite character. It’s been such a pleasure to read his journey from the first book to the last. His growth is immense and quite inspiring.


Andrew P. Weston is a gifted writer. He’s one of the best I’ve read. His writing prowess is comparable to other bestsellers in his genre. If you love reading dark fantasy, horror, or paranormal, you must take my advice and read this book. Then go back and read the rest of the series. You’ll be addicted as me.
