My Review:


Betrayal hits Cass hard and she’ll have to utilize all her skills to not only survive but be victorious. Searching for artifacts in outer space is Cass’ specialty. The only problem is she normally gets beaten out on claiming her prize. Not this time. With her godfather and charming Zack by her side, she’ll claim what she’s found: an ancient ship. What she doesn’t expect is to fall in love with Zack. Love complicates things, especially when it comes to her livelihood. A betrayal cuts deep and both she and Zack are left to die on a wasteland planet. Can Cass rely on her immense survival skills to get them off the planet in one piece or will she and Zack perish?


Searching Among the Stars is a science fiction romantic suspense I thoroughly enjoyed. Cass is a wonderful heroine who I instantly connected with. Everything about her I loved. I also connected with Zack. He’s on a secret mission and his conflict added depth and tension to the overall story. The plot moved at an excellent pace with incredible world-building and detailed narration. The world-building was so immersive, it was like being in outer space. The attention to detail was impressive and I applaud Vicky Burkholder for creating a realistic yet imaginative world. The story unfolded naturally with unexpected plot twists. That is where the suspense comes into play. The romance subplot was heartfelt and angsty. The emotions ebb and flow which made for an unforgettable reading experience. If you love science fiction romance, pick up Searching Among the Stars. If you’re looking for a futuristic romance, you’ll fall in love with Searching Among the Stars. Highly recommend!

Author Biography:


As her alter-ego, Vicky has multiple homes all over the universe. She looks human - for the most part - but when she starts writing about characters being able to move things or flicking fire from their fingertips, or changing the course of rivers, people tend to get a little freaked out. She found the one guy out there in the universe who loves her for who she is and they've been together forever and raised four wonderful (now) adults. Her career includes work as a technical writer/editor, a stringer for the local newspaper, and an editor and copy editor for various publishers. At various times in her life, she has been a teacher, a secretary, a short-order cook, a computer specialist, a DJ, and a librarian.
