My Review:

 

In the depths of darkness and evil, light and goodness emerge united to save three kingdoms. This is the final book of this trilogy, and it took my breath away. Merging fantasy, romance, Avalon, Viking, and medieval lore, Jennifer Ivy Walker takes the reader on a heart-stopping adventure. Everything you think you know from the previous two books is wiped away as the truth is revealed. The Emerald Fairy and the Dragon Knight is medieval fantasy romance at its best with characters that’ll make you weep, despise, and adore. I couldn’t put this book down. Even after I finished reading, I’m still thinking about it.


The heart of the book is the characters, especially Tristan and Issylte. Their love binds them, and no one can break that bond. I’ve read the characterization and growth of these main characters over the course of all three books. Its complexity shows the author’s gift for storytelling. The cast of characters is large, but each one plays an important role in the plot.


The world-building and descriptive narration work together to create an irresistible reading experience. The world building is immense with intricate characteristics which make the reader a part of the story. In my professional opinion, the world-building is equal to the works of Tolkien and other greats in the fantasy genre.


What makes this book stand out from the rest is the writing. Jennifer Ivy Walker makes you want to stay in her book, to savor just a little longer, and that is rare these days. Don’t take my word for it. Go and experience it for yourself.

Author Biography:

 

Jennifer Ivy Walker is a former high school teacher and professor of French at a state college in Florida. She writes paranormal fantasy, medieval romance, Viking historical romance, myth retellings, and historical fiction, inspired by her travels to France and her MA in French literature.

 

Her novels have won numerous awards, including the Readers’ Favorite Gold Medal 2023 in Mythology for her debut novel, The Wild Rose and the Sea Raven, the Paranormal Romance Guild Reviewers’ Choice Award 2023 in the Historical Fantasy/Myth genre for The Lady of the Mirrored Lake, and the American Fiction Awards Best Historical Romance Winner 2024 for Winter Solstice in the Crystal Castle.

 

She also designs Renaissance Denim Couture, creates bohemian jewelry, and walks miles along the Florida beach where she lives with her family and golden retriever, Ziggy.
