My Review:

Fans of fiction using the old west as a theme will be excited to get their hands on this book. There is a nice role reversal with who is affiliated with the bad guys and who is the innocent.

This romance is the definition of slow burn and if you like that, you will get your fill here. The character development is strong. Each character is fully fleshed out, so you completely know the inner workings of each.

The descriptive narration is in depth. The author spends a lot of time setting the scenes. The vivid nature of the descriptions will fill the reader's mind with images.

The one flaw with this work is the pacing. There seems to be no seamless flow here. Points that could be made quickly take sometimes a page or two or three to be brought into focus. The large spaces in the midst of conversation distract the reader from the book.

A book that will appeal to people who enjoy historical romance at Christmas time.  Fans of historical western novels will enjoy this work.  If you want to sink deeply into a story, this book is for you.

My Rating: 4.75 stars

Author Biography:

"How vain it is to sit down to write when you have not stood up to live." -Henry David Thoreau

I’m a lover of nature in the mornings and a writing soul at nights. My name is Nora J. Callaway and I come from Nevada, the beautiful Silver State.

I hold a BA in English Literature and an MA in Creative Writing. For years, I’ve wanted to get my stories out there, my own ‘babies’ as I like to call them, as inspired by my own experience leaving out West and my research of 19th-century American history.

All my life I have been breeding horses, cows and sheep and I’ve been tending to the land. It’s time to tend now to my inner need to grow my stories, my heart-warming Western romance stories, and share them with the rest of you!

I’m here to learn and connect with others who enjoy a cup of black coffee, a humble sunset and a ride with a horse! Bless your hearts, as my nana used to say! Come on, hope in!
