My Review:


An epic adventure fraught with peril will leave you on pins and needles until the very end. This is book four in this time travel romance series and it may just be my favorite. I’ve read all the books in the series and Bree is my favorite heroine. She’ll grab a hold of freedom at any cost. She’ll worm her way into your heart. Note: you can read this as a standalone.


Let’s start with the world-building. This book is set in a time period not often written about. Think cave dwellers only in a tribe. The descriptive narration paints a stark picture of what life might’ve been like back then. Survival was paramount and love, not so much. The danger of the journey and the unknown are brilliantly described. The harshness of the environment sets the tone. The world-building carries the reader throughout the story.


The characters are addictive to read due to their realistic vibe. I connected with all of the characters, especially Bree. She carries the story and it is easy for the reader to put themselves into her shoes.


The writing is nothing less than what I expect from P.L. Parker. She writes romance with strong women and virile men. She plunges the reader into the world she’s envisioned. Using words as her canvas, she creates a masterpiece and the reader is along for the ride.


If you love time-travel romance and looking for something original, fresh, and romantic, pick up The Sanctuary. You’ll see history in a brand new light.

Author Biography:


P.L. Parker was born and raised in Idaho where she lives with her three sons, a daughter-in-law and two grandchildren. She is an amateur Squatcher and can be found at times in the wilds of Idaho with her oldest son looking for the elusive creature.


Ms. Parker writes stories with alpha males and strong, determined women. Science fiction and time travel are her genres of choice but she has tried her hands at paranormal.
